IN THE PINK

A Pink Gin is made with 'Portsmouth' gin (sweeter than other gins), a dash of agostura bitters, from whence comes the pink colour, and garnished with lemon rind.  The cocktail was invented by the English Royal Navy to make angostura bitters, which originated in Venuzela and which were found to alleviate sea sickness, more palatable.   In other words, any excuse....
The pink gin in these pictures is however a traditional gin and tonic.  The pink hues come from the melted ice cubes which contained rasperries - another fantastic excuse.....
